What a pleasure it is to find a photo worthy subject close to home…..
Feeling pent up and ready to get out of the house, I was presented with heavy fog throughout my neighborhood. As I finished my third cup of coffee that morning, I decided I needed to get out and shoot and the fog gave me a great reason to do that. I headed down the street to this farm that’s near my house. I drive past it everyday and I often ponder different compositional ideas but usually it looks pretty boring. On this day, the fog made several compositions possible. This was my favorite. Two years ago, I shot an image (here) that captured sunrise behind the fog at this same farm. The road shown in the photo has recently become a well travelled path to and from the barn.
Shooting with the Fuji X-T2 and the ever versatile XF18-55mm “kit” lens, I envisioned leading lines headed into the fog flanked by the two completely different trees. Afterwards, I processed the image with Iridient Developer, tweaked it in Lightroom and converted to black and white using Silver Efex Pro.
