Early morning photo trips can be so rewarding. With some planning the trip becomes less of a gamble but you still don’t know what you’re going to get. Such is the case with this sunrise over Lake Nacogdoches near Nacogdoches, Texas.
I went to college in “Nac” many years ago and hadn’t spent much time back there due to multiple moves around the country. A business event brought me back last October to Nacogdoches and the surrounding East Texas area. One of the places I spent quite a bit of time at during my years in college was Lake Nacogdoches. The fond memories of hanging out at the lake were a lot of fun to recall.
While I was in East Texas, I wanted to get out to the lake to see if I could catch a good sunrise. Arriving at dawn, the lake was enshrouded in fog. Drinking my coffee as I watched clouds move across the lake, I wondered if I would get the sunrise I was looking for that day. Eventually, the clouds began to clear and the colors shown above appeared. As I enjoyed the solitude, I set up for the photo I imagined.
